MULTAN: Multan police have finalised a security plan for Eidul Fitr by assigning Eid duties to 5,000 policemen, 1,783 Pakistan Qaumi Razakars (PQRs) and 2,198 volunteers across the region.
A statement issued on Tuesday by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sultan Azam Taimuri said that fool-proof security arrangements had been made for Multan, Vehari, Khanewal and Lodhran districts for Eid holidays.
The RPO said that policemen would be deployed at 2,044 mosques, 70 open places and markets before Eid. “There are 2,114 mosques across the region, where Eid prayers would be held and several of them had been declared sensitive. Police commandos and Elite force would be deployed at such places,” Taimuri said.
CCTV cameras had been installed at sensitive places, metal detectors and walk-through gates would be used at big congregations, the RPO said and added that a traffic plan had also been made for public facilitation and parking would be free for people at public places.
